HISTORY
Native to the western United States, the Blanket Flower was named for its resemblance to the colorful patterns of Native American blankets. It has long been admired for its vibrant, daisy-like blooms and its ability to thrive in hot, dry climates.

HABIT
A hardy perennial that blooms the first year from seed. Produces large, daisy-like flowers in shades of red, orange, and yellow. Grows 18 to 24 inches tall and attracts butterflies.

CULTURE
Sow seeds outdoors in full sun after danger of frost has passed or start indoors 6–8 weeks earlier. Cover lightly with 1/8 inch of fine soil. Germinates in 10 to 20 days. Thin or transplant to 12 inches apart. Tolerates poor soil and drought once established.
